ISLAMABAD: Dr Abdul Basit, counsel for Justice Shabbar Raza Rizvi and Justice Hasnat Ahmed Khan, on Tuesday objected to the formation of the Supreme Court bench hearing contempt of court cases against the PCO judges.

Butt hires lawyer of Indian origin
LAHORE: Pakistan's suspended Test captain, Salman Butt, has turned to a United Kingdom based lawyer of Indian origin to represent him in the spot-fixing case. Salman Butt's lawyer Aftab Gul confirmed that Barrister Yasin Patel would be representing the player in all matters in the United Kingdom.

Lawyer moves reference against LHC judge
LAHORE: A lawyer has sent a reference to the president and the Supreme Judicial Council against a judge of the Lahore High Court for influencing a police case in favour of a naib qasid of his court.

Govt will change lawyer irrespective of SC order: Awan

Law Minister Babar Awan has said the government would change its lawyer in the NRO implementation case whether the Supreme Court allows it or not.
"We have a right to change our lawyer and we will do so; we will never infringe constitutional limits," Babar told reporters on Monday outside the Punjab Assembly after attending the parliamentary party meeting of the Pakistan People's Party. He was accompanied by PPP Punjab senior minister Raja Riaz.
