DUBAI - Dubai carried out a death sentence for the first time in 10 years on Thursday, executing an Emirati man found guilty of raping and murdering a Pakistani child, official media reported. Rashid Rabia al-Rashidi, who had been found guilty of the rape and pre-meditated murder of a four-year-old Pakistani boy in a Dubai mosque, had exhausted all legal avenues, the official WAM news agency said.

LAHORE - Cancer is the second biggest killer in Pakistan, participants of the third National Cancer Surgery Conference said on Saturday. In the last 3 days, eminent surgeons from the UK, US and different cities of Pakistan showed state-of-art operations to more than 200 surgeons.

Police unable to arrest wife’s killer

ATC remands DSP Ranjha’s alleged killer
Karachi - An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday remanded the alleged assassin of DSP Nawaz Ranjha into judicial custody.
ATC Administrative Judge Sajjad Ali Shah sent the suspect identified as Shakirullah to the Karachi Central Prison for a week.
According to the prosecution, Shakirullah was allegedly involved in the murder of two police officials DSP Ranjha and Inspector Nasirul Hassan.

KARACHI - Four years after the bill was drafted, the Sindh Health Department has once again decided to move the draft of the 'Sindh Registration and Regulation of Private Hospitals and Clinics Bill-2011' in the provincial assembly for the final approval.

Qadri, an Elite Force Punjab constable, was produced before duty magistrate Naeem Shaukat, who sent him on a one-day transit remand.
