ADEN - The death toll in an ammunition factory blast in south Yemen rose to between 50 and 55, doctors at a government hospital in the town of Jaar said. Witnesses said the blast took place after Jaar residents broke into the factory to steal ammunition a day after clashes broke out in the town between militants and the army.

The assailants, armed with automatic weapons, fired a rocket at the vehicle in Shaheedano village in Kurram Agency, killing four people and injuring several others, said the sources, adding that the victims also included a woman. They said the injured had been immediately rushed to a nearby hospital.

YANGON - At least 75 people were killed and hundreds left homeless on Friday after a strong earthquake hit Myanmar, with fears that the death toll could rise significantly.

QUETTA - A policeman was among four people killed and seventeen injured in a rocket attack in Quetta on Wednesday. Three rockets were fired from the western side of the provincial capital, all of which landed in a populated area.
