LAHORE - Model Town won the 2nd Javed Memorial Cricket Tournament, beating Mughalpura Whites by 41 runs here on Thursday. Batting first, Model Town were bowled out for 218. Rashid Riaz (87), Ashraf Ali (31), Nasir Jamsheed (30), and Jameel Khan (29) top scored for Model Town. Faheem Askari, Yasir Ali and Hassan Nasir took two wickets each for Mughalpura, while Imtiaz Shah and Afaq Shahid shared one apiece.
Mughalpura Whites could only score 177, for the loss of nine wicket.

LAHORE - Javed Memorial Cricket Club defeated Manawaan Gymkhana by 39 runs in a Ikram-ud-din Memorial Cricket Tournament tie at Jallo Park ground. Javed Memorial scored 196 runs in the allotted 35 overs, while bating first.
Muzffar (40), Aqeel Ahmad (30), Asif Khan (25) and Raza (18) were the top scorers for Javed Memorial. Manawaan Gymkhana's Naeem bagged three wickets, while Shahid and Faheem took two wickets each.
In reply, Manawaan were bowled out after scoring 158 runs.

ISLAMABAD - Justice Javed Iqbal, a senior Supreme Court judge on Friday took oath as the acting chief justice after the incumbent CJP Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry left for India to attend an international conference. ISLAMABAD - Former Balochistan police inspector general Javed Bukhari has been appointed as additional director general of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA). Pakistan Today learnt that Bukhari's appointment notification had also been issued and he would also lead the investigation team probing into the Haj scam.
