LHC CJ’s elite guards refuse to perform ‘unfair’ duty
LAHORE - As many as 18 commandos of the Elite Police Force deputed for the security of Lahore High Court Chief Justice Ijaz Ahmed Chaudhry on Tuesday refused to perform their duty, informing the security in-charge that they could not be on duty for 24 hours with the chief justice, at court and at his home.
Following the protest, the Elite Police Force sent a new batch of 18 commandos to provide security to the LHC chief justice.

Quetta - The Balochistan High Court granted bail to Shahzain Bugti, the provincial president of the Jamhoori Watan Party, and his 26 guards on Monday.
Shahzain, the grandson of slain Baloch leader Akbar Bugti was arrested by the Frontier Corps and local police at Baleli checkpost on December 22 along with his 26 bodyguards for carrying a large cache of weapons when they were travelling from Chaman to Quetta.

Coast guards seize 34kg of hashish
KARACHI - Pakistan Coast Guards (PCG) foiled an attempt to smuggle a consignment of hashish and heroin in Windar, Balochistan.
According to a PCG statement issued on Saturday, PCG officials stopped a car at Naka Khari check post and upon searching it found 34 kg hashish and 11 kg heroin from the car.
Seizing the drugs, PCG authorities has started investigation into the matter, the statement added.

QUETTA - An anti-terror court granted a seven-day physical remand of provincial president of Jamhoori Watan Party Shahzain Bugti and his 26 guards, a private TV channel reported on Thursday.
