TOKYO - Japanese nuclear regulators said that robots have obtained the first radiation readings from inside the stricken Fukushima power plant's tsunami-damaged reactor buildings.

KARACHI - Inflow of Portfolio Investment has compensated for a decline in the inflow of Foreign Direct Investment to Pakistan during the first nine months of FY11.

SHANGHAI - China said Sunday it had posted its first quarterly trade deficit in seven years, despite a narrow surplus in March, as rising commodity prices pushed manufacturers' costs higher.

ROME - World food prices fell for the first time in eight months in March after record highs largely due to oil prices, though the situation remains volatile, the UN's food agency said on Thursday.
