LAHORE - The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) has cited efforts to destroy the education system in the countries hit by conflict, a report published in The Guardian said. ISLAMABAD - Dr Arshad Ovais Qazi, a director in Education Department, was stabbed to death by unknown assassins on Tuesday. According to police, Arshad was killed inside his house located in G-8 Sector.
His wife, who is a teacher in FG College Rawalpindi, and children, were not present at the time of the gory incident, SI Flak Sher of the Margalla Police Station said, adding that Arshad's children found their father in a pool of blood after returning from school.

FPSC shows concern over falling education standards
ISLAMABAD - Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC) has shown its concerns over what it called the deteriorating standards of education as 133 posts in BS 16-20 could not be filled in 2009 for lack of suitable candidates.
