Eight Pakistanis were sentenced to five years in jail for trafficking three Pakistani teenagers into Dubai and forcing them into prostitution, a local media outlet reported on Sunday.

They were convicted by the Dubai Court of First Instance on Sunday over charges of human trafficking, sexual exploitation and running a prostitution den.

They are required to pay a fine of $5400 each and will be deported from the UAE after serving their sentences.

The seven men and one woman were apprehended by police after a raid in the Al Baraha area of Dubai.

The three girls, all 17-year-olds, were convinced by the woman to travel to Dubai.
