The 19th Asian Athletics Championship is to be held from July 7 to 10 at Kobe, Japan and the Pakistan athletics contingent comprising five players and an official will take part in the event. The team departed to Japan from Islamabad on Monday for participation in the championship. The Pakistan athletes will compete in five disciplines and that are 100m, triple jump, 110m hurdles, 800m and 500m races.
The athletes: Liaqat Ali from Army (100m); Zafar Iqbal from Army (Triple Jump); Mohsin Ali from PAF (110m Hurdles); Ali M from WAPDA 800m; Rabia Ashiq from WAPDA (500m).
