PM Khan, COAS Bajwa discuss internal, external security challenges

ISLAMABAD: Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa called on Prime Minister Imran Khan on Monday where the two discussed matters pertaining to the national security and foreign policy.

According to details, PM Khan and COAS Bajwa met at the PM Office to exchange their views on issues of mutual concerns. The relations between Pakistan and the United States (US) also came under discussion.

“COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa called on Prime Minister Imran Khan in PM secretariat today (Monday). Matters related to Defence Day, US-Pakistan relations, internal and external security situation were discussed,” said a statement issued by the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

This is the third time that both leaders are meeting in the last eight days.

The army chief had also held meeting with PM Khan on August 27. They had discussed security situation and expressed resolve to bring enduring peace and stability in the country while also continuing efforts for regional peace.

Also, PM Imran along with cabinet members visited GHQ on August 30. During his visit, the premier had said that Pakistan is facing external and internal challenges but with the support of the nation and through a cohesive national approach. He said they will overcome these issues.
