The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is expected to introduce changes to the National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA), a local media outlet reported on Sunday.
NACTA, National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA), Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) and others are likely to be reformed as it was part of the party’s manifesto.
The PTI manifesto envisaged NACTA as an institution where all relevant stakeholders could focus on national security issues in an organised manner.
NACTA was setup in 2009 with the goal of developing Pakistan’s counter-terrorism strategy and ironing out the process of its implementation.
