LAHORE: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Saturday directed the provincial government and city administration of Lahore to remove all unnecessary barricades from the roads to facilitate residents and ease their commute.

The prime minister issued these directives while taking notice of the difficulties being faced by the people due to the barricades that had been erected following his arrival here on Friday night.

The residents had experienced a massive traffic jam at the Canal Road due to the premier’s security protocol. With a media consultant for a political party sharing the video of the gridlock on Twitter, social media users had stepped in to criticise the prime minister.

Separately, PM Khan took notice of a protest staged by the residents of NA-125 constituency outside his Zaman Park residence against the policies of NADRA.

He directed the NADRA chairman to meet the people and address their grievances.

Meanwhile, teachers of Punjab University also demonstrated outside the premier’s residence for not being regularised.
