23 suspects booked for child disappearances in Karachi

KARACHI: Karachi police on Tuesday apprehended 23 suspects for allegedly torturing three minors who went missing for nearly an hour on Monday from the Quaidabad area.

It was reported that the suspects were arrested as a result of various raids conducted in the Quaidabad and Sherpao colony.

Furthermore, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Malir Munir Sheikh said that the suspects have been taken in for questioning.

Earlier on Tuesday, the parents of the missing children registered a case against unidentified men and demanded that the suspects are arrested immediately.

The SSP also stated that according to the medical reports, the children bear brutal torture marks on their bodies.

Sindh Inspector General Amjad Javed Saleemi asked for a report on the incident.

On Monday, three children disappeared for nearly an hour in Karachi’s Quaidabad area. They returned bearing torture marks on their bodies.
