Six people, including a grandson of Nawab Akbar Bugti, were killed and several others injured in a clash between two groups at a private party at a house in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority. According to details, a dance party was being organised at house No 121, 7th street, Khayaban-e-Rahat in Defence VI.
The owner of the house has been identified as Nasir. Pakistan Muslim League-Functional divisional head Arif Rajar and his companions were also present at the party. Taleh Bugti and his friends tried to enter the premises of the house, but were stopped by Arif and his guards. The argument led to the opening of indiscriminate fire by the two groups, wherein two people were killed on the spot. At least 12 others were injured in the clash.
The bodies and the injured were rushed to a hospital, where four more people, including a girl, succumbed to their injuries. The deceased were identified as Taleh Bugti s/o Saleem Akbar Bugti, Dr Iqbal and Moon of the PML-F, Ziauddin, Kamran and Joseph. A girl was also killed in the incident, but her identity could not be ascertained. “The quarrel started over a girl,” a source in the police department said. Police have arrested the owner of the house for interrogation and were conducting raids for the arrest of Arif Rajar, the main accused in the incident.
“Police lodged an FIR 192/2011 against Arif Rajar and the deceased Taleh Bugti,” the Clifton SPO said. Meanwhile, Jamhoori Watan Party President Talal Bugti criticised the Sindh government for not allowing his family to bury Taleh Bugti in Dera Bugti. He told reporters at a press conference in Quetta that the family wanted to bury his nephew at Dera Bugti but the Sindh government had not permitted them to move the body.
