ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s High Commissioner to India Sohail Mahmood has urged India to implement the bilateral 1974 Protocol between the two countries on visits to religious shrines.

In an interview with daily Tribune India, he said Pakistan had made assiduous efforts to preserve religious sites and facilitate visits of people of all faiths.

The high commissioner said the people belonging to different faiths made year-round preparations for their religious journeys.

He regretted that Pakistani pilgrims were not issued visas to participate in the Urs at Ajmer Sharif.
