ISLAMABAD: Bahria University Islamabad organised the Biannual Career Expo 2018 with an aim to bring job seekers and employers under one roof, in addition to guiding candidates on various career paths and innovative job-hunting tactics.
The job fair was poised to serve as an effective way for organisations to directly interact with prospective candidates and recruit the required talent without going through the hassle of traditional hiring practices. The event also aimed to provide opportunities for students and alumni to learn about job openings, research companies and practice their interviewing and networking skills.
Bahria University Rector Vice Admiral (r) Muhammad Shafiq inaugurated the event. Other senior management of the university, alumni and potential employers were also present at the occasion.
The industry representatives and human resource (HR) experts from top organisations gave an overview of the various industries’ update on HR demands, entry requirements and career prospects.
Around 100 leading companies of telecom, services, manufacturing, NGOs and banking sectors participated in the career expo. The main highlight of the job fair included giving dedicated and talented job seekers the opportunity to meet with employers at Bahria University. Other resources that were available included career counseling professionals.
The event continued for the whole day during which employers conducted on spot interviews and selected the candidates who fulfilled their requirements. Companies including Air Blue, WWF Pakistan, National Assembly Secretariat, Bestway Cement, IBM, LMKR, Hashoo Group and many others graced the event with their presence.
According to BU Policy, the teaching methodology is aligned with industry requirements and focus is kept on the employability of its graduates.
