QUETTA: Religious and political parties of Balochistan registered their complaints in the election tribunal over the delimitation of constituencies in the province conducted by Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Leaders of various political parties have arrived in Islamabad where the ECP will hear the cases.
The complainants include Jamiat Ulema E Islam-F (JUI-F), Pakhtunkhwa Mili Awami Party (PkMAP), Balochistan National Party (BNP), Awami National Party (ANP), Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), National Party (NP) and Jamiat Ulema E Islam-Ideological (JUI-I).
The leadership of the said parties includes Engineer Zamark Khan Achakzai, Abdul Majeed Khan Achakzai, Rehmat Saleh Baloch, Sana Baloch and Molana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri. Talking to media, the leaders said that keeping the prevailing law and order situation in view, the current delimitations by the ECP were unacceptable.
On Saturday, the nine-member working group a special committee on Delimitation of Constituencies of National Assembly rejected the delimitation of new constituencies by the ECP, and recommended holding the elections on the basis of the previous delimitation.
