- Siraj-ul-Haq maintains to name Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan as interim PM
SIALKOT: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) chief Siraj-ul-Haq said on Sunday that his party in alliance with the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA) would purge the country of the secular and liberal elements.
While addressing a public meeting at Sambrial near Sialkot, he said, “The next turn to be in power is of MMA [and it will happen] with the power of votes. The MMA is striving to purge the country of corruption, corrupt politicians and secular and liberal elements.”
He said that the MMA would also crush the western agenda of the secular and liberal-minded to promote the concepts of secularism and liberalism in the country.
He said, “[Those] elements who are dreaming to make Pakistan a secular state are living in the fools’ paradise.”
Haq hoped that the newly revived MMA would come in power after winning the 2018 general elections, adding that the reformation of the MMA had afflicted the secular and liberal-minded elements in the country.
‘NAME DR ABDUL QADEER KHAN AS INTERIM PM’:
He presented the name of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan, the prominent atomic scientist, as the caretaker Prime Minister of Pakistan in the country ahead of the 2018 general elections.
Siraj-ul-Haq admitted, “Yes, JI has forwarded the name of Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan for the slot of the caretaker prime minister of Pakistan.”
He added that JI strongly recommended Dr Abdul Qadeer Khan for the position as he was the hero of the nation who made Pakistan a nuclear power. “Now, the time has come to acknowledge the meritorious services of Dr Qadeer and pay him rich tribute by appointing him as the caretaker prime minister,”Haq told the participants.
He said that all the political parties including the MMA alliance, PPP and PTI would agree on the name and there should be no objection over it.
He said that the JI would play a pivotal role in the political platform of the MMA. He said that the MMA’s top agenda would be to ensure the promotion of the ‘Islamic democracy’ and elimination of the western culture as well.
He said that the JI would continue its nation-wide movement to eliminate the corruption from the country, besides making it a prosperous and Islamic welfare state as envisaged by the founder of the nation, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
The senator added that the MMA would be the last hope of the people who were disappointed by the mainstream political parties including the PPP, PML-N and PTI. “The MMA will live up to the expectations of the oppressed people,” he promised.
He assured that his party and the MMA alliance would never accept any kind of dictatorship in the country, saying that they were only hoping for a true and sustainable democracy under the flag of Islam.
