Former Chairman of Economics Department Government College University, Lahore Professor Abdul Samad Khalid died in USA here on Friday.
He was laid to rest in Muslim Cemetery in Raleigh, North Carolina, USA.
Prof. Abdul Samad Khalid was 83 and has left behind two sons, two daughters and a widow. He was the longest serving professor of Economics and was engaged in academics from 1952 till his retirement in 1988 from Government College University.

He dedicated his life to educating the youth of Pakistan. His students must and will carry on his dream of establishing a prosperous and just nation. They are his legacy. Inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi rajeoon
I took lessons in Economics by two great teachers in Govt College, Lahore They were Professor M. Rashid & Prof. Abdul Samad Khalid Baloch. The former was quite strict but with the later we felt quite easy in class room and had courage to ask him to further elaborate points to have more clearer picture of Economics.
