Amber Rudd commends Punjab CM’s efforts for health, education reforms

LAHORE: British Home Secretary Amber Rudd on Thursday called on Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in London. During the meeting, different matters of mutual interest and bilateral relations between the two countries came under discussion.

British Home Secretary said that Pakistan had played a commendable role in the war against terrorism. She said that due to the hard work of Chief Minister Shehbaz and his team, improved results had been achieved in health and education sectors. She also said that the reforms programme of the Punjab government under the supervision of Shehbaz Sharif was meeting wonderful successes.

Speaking at the occasion, the chief minister said that Pakistan-UK relations were based on solid foundations and UK’s cooperation in the health and education sectors was commendable.

He said that collective efforts of the Punjab government and the DFID had bear fruit to achieve the targets of the education sector in Punjab.

“The Pakistan army, police and other agencies have rendered invaluable services for the elimination of terrorism in the country,” said Shehbaz and pointed out that efforts of the Counter Terrorism Department in major cities of the province were also giving positive results.

“Due to the establishment of the Safe City Authority in Lahore and other cities, the ratio of terrorism and other crimes has sufficiently been decreased,” concluded the chief minister.

  1. Rudd, I am sorry to see you shaking hand with this individual who come to UK for his medical check ups, has he got no hospital in Punjab? where he has been in power for last 30 years, disgrace. He should be shamed to come here.
    Anyone know who will be billed for his expenses. I assume poor public who struggle for evening meal.
