ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Friday said that the institution of Woman Ombudsman had a vital role in ensuring the participation of women in the workforce for enhanced national performance, as well as, for the protection of women under relevant laws, providing them justice.
The president was talking to former Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment, Justice (retd) Yasmin Abbasey, who paid a farewell call on him here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The president said that women had an effective role in the country’s development and in every field of life, therefore, it was very important that they were provided with protection at the workplace.
“For this purpose, the ombudsman office is very important,” he added.
Mamnoon lauded the services of Justice (retd) Yasmin Abbasey and said that she had worked a lot for the protecting women from harassment at the workplace.
