ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly (NA) on Wednesday passed three bills including the Islamabad Capital Territory Child Protection Bill, 2017, the Juvenile Justice System Bill, 2017 and the National University of Technology Bill, 2018.
Human Rights Minister, Mumtaz Tarar had presented two bills before the house while Science and Technology Minister, Rana Tanveer Ahmed presented one bill.
Speaking on the bill, Mumtaz Tarar said that many child abuse incidents had occurred in various parts of the country and that the aim of the child protection bill was to control these incidents.
He said that after the passing of this bill, institutions and a welfare fund would be set up for the protection of children.
