KARACHI: Mayor Wasim Akhtar directed the concerned officers on Tuesday to expedite the computerization and IT infrastructure development at Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) along with complete digitization of land archives record to enhance the accessibility of the documents.
The mayor issued the directives while chairing a meeting on the process of computerization and establishment of IT infrastructure at his office.
The meeting was attended by IT Department Senior Director SM Taha, IT Consultant Daniyal Ahmed, Senior Director Coordination Masood Alam, Director Technical to Mayor SM Shakaib, Director Finance Mohammad Ashraf and other officers of the department.
A detailed presentation on various functions of I.T Department including the setting up of IT infrastructure in KMC building, development of KMC website and its maintenance and procurement of hardware and software.
Its future plan includes the computerization of All KMC Hospitals on the pattern of Abbasi Shaheed Hospital, KMC video conferencing system, the establishment of disaster recovery system and the integrated financial management information system (to be funded by the World Bank).
