Turkish consul general pays farewell call on Punjab CM

  • CM says Pakistan, Turkey enjoy brotherly ties

 

Consul general of Turkey, Serdar Deniz paid a farewell call on the Punjab chief minister Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore. The chief minister paid tribute to the Turkish consul general for playing a constructive role in promoting the Pak-Turkey relationship and wished him best of luck for future assignments.

CM Shehbaz said that Serdar Deniz has played an effective role in promoting and strengthening the Pak-Turkey ties and his efforts will be remembered for a long time. He said that Pakistan and Turkey have friendly and brotherly bilateral ties and the people of both the countries have sentiments of love and purity for each other. He said that Turkey has always supported Pakistan in case of natural calamities like floods, earthquakes and others. The chief minister also said that Turkey was the first country to support Pakistan after the tweet of the US president.

He said that Turkish companies are working in Pakistan especially Punjab and from the last few years, the brotherly ties between both the countries have transformed into a bilateral trade. The chief minister added that due to the economic cooperation, the friendship between both the countries has become everlasting. He said that Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the prime minister and other leadership has always provided corporation to Pakistan, and the government, as well as the people of Pakistan, pray for a bright future of Turkey.

The Turkish consul general said that he remained appointed to this post for two years and Shehbaz Sharif has always extended support to him. He said that he will always remember the time spent in Lahore. He thanked the chief minister for all the love and respect and called him a seasoned politician. He said that the chief minister has played a very effective role in promoting the Pak-Turkey ties, adding that the chief minister enjoys the profound respect of the Turkish leadership.

Railways minister Khawaja Saad Rafique, provincial minister for planning and development Malik Nadeem Kamran, vice chairman Punjab Investment Board, Khawaja Ahmad Hasaan and others concerned officials were also present at the occasion.

  1. Of course, Turkey and Pakistan enjoy fraternal relations having many common attributes, history and the challenges they have been facing in the past. I myself been witness to such sentiments that both the countries have during my official visit to Turkey in 1975/6 while undertaking an industrial survey in Turkey, Iran and Pakistan under RCD Forum. m.aslam ch
