KARACHI: The Sindh government has sent a letter to the federal government for the appointment of the new Inspector General (IG) Police Sindh proposing three names.

The name of Sardar Abdul Majeed Dasti was on the top of the list sent by the provincial government, while Ghulam Qadir Thebu and Kaleem Imam also made it to the priority list.

The letter apprised the federal government regarding the provincial cabinet’s decision of change in IG Sindh post and asked for the appointment of a new IG.

The Sindh government had attempted to remove the present IG Sindh AD Khawaja twice before this latest request made to the federal government, but their request was turned down on both occasions.

After the federal government’s rejection, the Sindh government approached Sindh High Court (SHC). However, SHC had dismissed the request for the removal of the Sindh IG A.D Khawaja’s removal.
