The Crime Investigation Department (CID) of the Sindh police claimed on Tuesday that it has arrested four target killers at the Hub River Road after an encounter and recovered weapons from their possession. “The police were tipped off about the presence of these criminals,” CID Anti-Extremism Cell In-charge SP Choudhary Aslam Khan told Pakistan Today, “When the police intercepted the criminals, they opened fire and after a brief encounter, terrorist were arrested,” he added. The arrested men were identified as Shahid, Munawar Alam alias Bilal, Muhammad Ali and Khawaja Talat. Two Kalashnikovs, one 222 rifle, a TT pistol and a vehicle was seized from their custody, the CID official said. “The target killers killed a Pesh Imam of a mosque in North Nazimabad and two activists of Sunni Tehreek in New Karachi. They are also involved in several street crimes,” Khan added.
