LDA deputy director arrested by NAB: report

LAHORE: National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has arrested a Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Deputy Director for his alleged involvement in fabricating bogus plots and files in Mustafa Town, according to a report by a private media outlet.

NAB Lahore has acquired the physical remand of accused deputy director Ahmed Khan from Accountability Court till 23rd December, 2017.

According to NAB spokesperson, NAB Director General (DG) had authorised investigations against officials of LDA in June 2017, regarding manipulations found in preparing, approving and sale of around 16 bogus files of Mustafa Town, Lahore.

It was alleged that millions of rupees have been embezzled by LDA officers in connivance with other private persons. Backdated bogus exemption files were prepared but the fee was deducted later to make files genuine, he added.

NAB Lahore has arrested six accused and three accused have agreed to return all the looted money. bogus transactions: In an embezzlement of over Rs230 million in 733 bogus transactions in Punjab Constabulary- 3 Multan, the Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab has arrested one accused assistant account officer. According to an ACE official, the accused was identified as Ahmad Bakhsh Jaskani.
