Chief Secretary (CS) Sindh Rizwan Memon has directed the Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KW&SB) to ensure the supply of potable water to all people of the metropolis without any discrimination.
He also emphasized to enhance the monitoring system as efficiently as possible.
The CS visited the Head Office of KW&SB on Friday during which Managing Director (MD) Hashim Raza Zaidi briefed him about the water supply mechanism including the functioning of S-III and K-IV projects with the help of charts and maps.
Zaidi informed that the computerized complaint receipt and disposal system is operational, under which at least 700 complaints are disposed-off every month.
He pointed out that 540 millions of gallons of water is supplied to the citizens per day. Project Director of K-IV water project requested the assistance of Sindh government for removal of the encroachments near the K-IV Water Project.
Rizwan Memon was also told that the old machines are being replaced under a 30 months replacement programme which began in December 2016 and is expected to finish in June 2019.
Chief Secretary maintained that strict and timely compliance with the court orders must be ensured, without any delay.
