LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) government has led the country toward development as the priority of the party has always been public service and prosperity of the country.
Talking to a delegation of PML-N after his return from London, he said that PML-N has always led positive and democratic politics. He said that the country’s current financial development has been acknowledged by international organisations and that Pakistan would soon emerge as an economic power in the region if the government’s policies continued.
He expressed hope that PML-N would emerge victorious in the 2018 elections, saying that the politics of hard work, honesty, loyalty and public service would surely be rewarded. He said that PML-N has served people selflessly in all its tenures and will continue to do so, adding that PML-N’s governments were the heralds of development and prosperity.
Shehbaz Sharif also remarked that PML-N was still the most popular party among the public, saying that people had become aware enough to reject politicians who used policies of lies and impeachment to serve their own interests. He said that the public would bring such elements as were halting the country’s progress to their logical conclusion in the upcoming elections.
The chief minister also vowed that the PML-N had committed itself to the country’s development and prosperity and that politics of lies and baseless allegations could not deter it from its way. He said that the country is embarked on the road of development through the government’s sincere efforts and that PML-N had always placed national interests over personal interests. He said that it was an honour for the PML-N that it had taken the country out of its swirl of issues.
He further highlighted that the government had started revolutionary programmes worth billions of rupees to raise the living standards of public, by providing facilities and seeing a record number of development projects to their ends despite huge obstacles.
Shehbaz Sharif landed back in Lahore from London earlier today. He had been in London to visit former prime minister Nawaz Sharif’s ailing wife Begum Kulsoom Nawaz. During his stay in London, several overseas Pakistanis and delegations of PML-N had also called upon the chief minister.
