LAHORE: Political scenario has turned more volatile during the last two weeks as All Pakistan Muslim League, founded by former president Pervez Musharraf, intends to issue 40-page charge-sheet against PML-N next week, spotlighting Nawaz Sharif’s 10-year exile agreement, details of his assets in London and alleged misdemeanors
Politicians seem exited to see the charge sheet against PML-N in retaliation to the one issued by PML-N against Musharraf on October 11, 2010. Experts term Musharraf’s charge sheet opening of a new chapter of witch-hunt among the politicians meant to satisfy their personal grudges and hatred.
However, some political analysts believe publicising such hidden truths will help people deepen their political understanding and come to know about the dirty games politicians had been involved in. APML spokesman Fawad Chaudhry told Pakistan Today that the charge sheet was to be issued on last Monday but it was withheld to incorporate the detail of Nawaz Sharif’s assets in London.
Since AMPL had got the detail, the charge sheet would be made public next week, he said. “The dossier that embodies 40 pages will feature more than 20 points to unmask the true face of PML-N,” he added. PML-N central leader Raja Zafrul Haq termed the charge sheet waste of time, saying the former dictator had neither political nor moral grounds to defame PML-N. “AMPL is trying to create something out of nothing,” he added.
Jamat-e-Islami senior leader Liaquat Baloch said that blame game between PML-N and APML was just a political feud between two rival parties. “There is no room for such personal war in democracy,” Baloch opined. Muttahida Pakistan Muslim League senior leader Sheikh Rashid said the purpose behind the game of charge sheets was that both PML-N and APML wanted to intensify their vendetta that would not serve democracy and people.
PPP coordinator of President Zardari in Punjab, Naveed Chauhdry, said the party was in favour of disclosure of covert realities as the masses had a right to know them to comprehend what the politicians had been doing in the past. However, the APML charge sheet should not promote character-assassination, he said.
