ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided again to elect Nawaz Sharif as party president, as preparations have been started to pass the bill from National Assembly after it was passed from the Senate.
The National Assembly session has been called on 2 November instead of 6. After it is passed in the National Assembly, it will be forwarded to the president for approval. The approval of the president will pave way to make Nawaz Sharif president of the PML-N political party.
A session of PML-N parliamentary leaders has been called on October 3, says Raja Zafar-ul-Haq. In that session, announcement regarding party leadership will be made, he added. He said that the president will approve the bill the same day it is passed in the National Assembly. Since the ruling party has the majority in the lower house, the bill will be passed without much opposition.
Previously on September 22, Senate passed the Senate Bill 2017 with majority vote, paving way for ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif to the leadership of his party.
