ISLAMABAD: Dozens of patients suffering from dengue fever, belonging to the congested area Bhara Kahu, have been reportedly admitted to the Poly Clinic Hospital (PCH) and PIMS, the two top hospitals of the city.
According to reports, the situation has emerged due to poor cleanliness arrangements, open water tanks, ponds and nullahs, which are given birth to dengue mosquito. The local administration has taken no solid steps to curb the disease.
According to details, over two dozen patients had been admitted to PCH out of which a dozen was identified as dengue positive. In PIMS hospital, over thirty patients had been admitted with dengue signs and symptoms. Most of the people who had been admitted in both hospitals belong to Bhara Kahu.
AED Abdul Wali Khan informed that out of four patients, three patients belonged to Bhara Kahu. He added that Poly Clinic administration was providing all available facilities to dengue patients. He also said that for the first time, the NS1 test was being done without any cost which was proving helpful for identification of dengue.
He also informed that the entire data of Punjab was present in the dashboard through Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB).
