CM reviews progress on provision of clean drinking water

LAHORE: An important meeting was held today under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The meeting reviewed in detail, different matters pertaining to the provision of clean drinking water.  The CM also inspected mobile laboratories for water testing, motor bikes and water testing laboratories.

Addressing the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif said that the programme of the provision of clean drinking water to the people is very important and added that this programme should be moved further with accelerated speed. He directed that speedy development should be made on this programme and all the relevant matters should be settled at the earliest. A weekly meeting should also be arranged to review the progress on this programme, he added. He said that this programme is being launched from the tehsils of southern Punjab and told that resources worth billions of rupees have been allocated for it. This mega project of public importance will be expanded across the province, he further told.

The CM said that the project of establishment of mobile water testing laboratories is an important step with regards to providing clean drinking water. These latest laboratories are very important for the provision of clean drinking water to the people. He said that motor bikes and water testing laboratories are also arranged to check the water quality in villages and other far-flung areas. This step will help to get rid of water borne diseases, he added. He said that this step will play an important role in the provision of clean drinking water to the people.

The chief minister directed that best professionals should be selected for mobile water testing laboratories. He also appreciated the performance of secretary housing and his team with regard to the implementation of the programme of mobile water testing laboratories.
