SOPs training for LCUs concludes after a week

A week-long training of 21 women police officers (WPOs) from 17 Ladies Complaint Units (LCUs) all over Punjab ended on April 30. The training was based on the standard operating procedures (SOPs) devised by the police to deal with female victims of violence.
Punjab Additional Inspector General Training Sarmad Saeed Khan, Chung Police Training School (PTS) Chief Law Instructor Waseem Durrani, Master Trainer Saima Inam, Psychologist Saiqa Raziq and Computer and Data Base Trainer Farhan Bashir were among the trainers for the course.
The course included training about fundamental human rights and international standards of operating procedures which are used to deal with the female victims of violence. Also included in the course was training on gender sensitisation, stress management, self awareness, communication skills and use of computers to compile database of complaints in LCUs. Muzaffargarh LCU Incharge Sub-Inspector Nusrat Parveen said that she was impressed and felt highly motivated by the training and stated that she was determined to apply these newly learnt SOPs to ensure the privacy, respect and dignity of victims.
Chung PTS Commandant Deputy Inspector General Major (r) Mubashirullah distributed certificates of participation among the graduating WPOs.
