ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan said on Monday Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had taken the biggest U-turn of history in Panama Leaks case.

Answering a question regarding his unconditional apology to the Election Commission of Pakistan, Khan said, “I have witnessed the biggest U-turn of history today. I have not taken any U-turn, but it is Nawaz Sharif who has taken a U-turn. It was not even in the imaginations of Nawaz Sharif that he would be searched in Supreme Court.  Galli Galli me shore hai, Nawaz Sharif chor hai.”

Talking to media men outside the Supreme Court (SC), Khan said, “I, for the first time ever, heard Sheikh Rashid snoring during the hearing of the case today in SC. Half of the SC was sleeping today.”

Nawaz Sharif had said he would not tender his resignation and he was ready for accountability, he said. On the other hand, the counsel for PM is trying that SC should not hear this case, he added.

“Nawaz Sharif gave the wrong statement in the parliament. Government bluffed and got entrapped,” he remarked.

He went on to say that PM Nawaz shifted the burden of the money trail to his children, and his children shifted it to the Qatari prince. “The government is confused, as it was not even in the imagination of the government that the case would go to SC, and they would be searched,” he added.

He said the entire nation is waiting when money trail would be presented and Sharif would be punished.

He held PML-N was not accepting till 2016 that flats were owned by Nawaz Sharif. He had to accept it, willingly or unwillingly, following the emergence of Panama Leaks that the flats were, in fact, owned by them, he said. BBC made it clear that these fair flats were owned by them since 1993. If Qatari letter is a fraud, then it meant that flats were owned by Hussain Nawaz, and if Maryam Nawaz is the real owner, then Qatari prince letter will be proven false. “Government stands mired from all sides,” he added.

“If the government is true, then why it does not sue BBC and ICIJ,” he said, adding that PM Nawaz has lost his moral authority.

Earlier, Imran Khan submitted an unconditional apology to the ECP in party funding case.

It may be mentioned here that the PTI chairman earlier called the ECP ‘biased’ on the basis of a verdict it had given on January 9.

Imran Khan had also submitted a petition calling for a review of the case. However, after severe criticism by the ECP, the PTI chairman opted to withdraw the statement and filed an unconditional apology to the commission over his remarks.

Court will give historical verdict

Talking to media outside the apex court after the hearing of Panama Leaks case, PTI’s Naeemul Haq said that PM has acquired skill in hiding the facts, as the facts about the economy of the country were also kept hidden.

PTI Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry said that the counsel of PM brought books from a library and argued before the court after studying them about dual nationality, adding that during the hearing, all the leaders of PML-N were sleeping in the court.

“The counsel of PM has no concern with the Panama Leaks case; he is just wasting the time of the court. All the arguments of counsel of PM, Makhdoom Ali Khan, were irrelevant and he should argue based on facts,” he added

Fawad Chaudhry further said that, if the news item of BBC was incorrect, then why it was not challenged in the court?
