The young doctor’s protest against the central induction policy in Punjab including Lahore and Rawalpindi entered eighth consecutive day on Thursday.

The protest has led to the shutting down of the Outdoor Patient Departments (OPDs) in the government hospitals creating more problems for the patients and their relatives.

YDA has halted their operations and shut down the OPDs in Lahore’s Mayo, Services, Jinnah, Gangaram, Children and General hospitals.

Similar situation is witnessed in Multan’s Nishtar hospital, Faisalabad’s Civil and Allied hospital, and Rawalpindi’s Benazir Bhutto hospital.

The government has not responded to the demands put forward by the doctors.

The tussle between the doctors and the government has forced the patients to get costly treatment from the private hospitals.
