Water and power minister, Syed Naveed Qamar has announced on the floor of the National Assembly that the ground breaking ceremony of Basha dam would be carried out within a few weeks time. If he has ever visited the office of Chairman WAPDA at Lahore, he would have seen a large picture of ground breaking of Basha dam hanging on the wall which took place in the year 2006. It appears a second ground breaking of Basha dam is planned after five years of the first one.
It is incumbent upon the Minister to elucidate as to why a second ground breaking of the dam site is being planned simply to hoodwink the gullible public to believe that progress on Basha dam is continuing. The Minister should not insult the intelligence of people of Pakistan.
