Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to convene a meeting of heads of all political parties and convince them on the implementation status of decisions and his commitment on CPEC that he had made to KP.
Khattak said he was committed to eliminating corruption and his government had empowered the local government system and transferred it Rs 33 billion.
He was responding to questions posed by listeners in a live programme of Radio Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Thursday. He also met delegations and presided over a meeting at the CM’s House.
Referring to the free corruption and provision of equal justice to the people, the chief minister said that his government enacted an independent Ehtesab act that eliminated bargaining in the province. A system was put in place for the recovery and punishment of the corrupt. He also referred to the whistle-blower law that would put locks on the all the wrong doings.
The chief Minister complaint Cell was sensitive to take prompt action and it recovered Rs 580 million and un-moveable property to the tone of Rs one billion. The right to Information and the right to services were other laws bringing transparency and promptness to the system of governance, he added. He said his government had given facilities to 15000 schools at a cost of Rs 120 billion. Another 22 billion were spent on up-gradation and standardisation of higher secondary schools, he added.
Pervez Khattak said that health sector had witnessed the worst case scenario in the province. There was shortage of 50 thousand doctors but now there has been 90pc improvement and it would be 100pc improvement in health sector by December, he hoped.
The chief minister also referred to Sehat Insaf Card that would be given to the poor on merit and it would be extended to 1.8million families. The Police system was reformed and it has started giving results.
The chief minister also referred to the Swat Motorway which would be completed in record time, which would integrate the entire Malakand division with the rest of the province. He said that the government provided free seeds in the previous year to the farmers and it was being extended this year as well.
He also spoke about the Billion Tree Tsunami and added that his government had succeeded the half way in this regard. 10 million olive plants were given to farmers, he added. He also highlighted the anti encroachment drive and added that the government had started it from the influential encroachers which made the whole operation successful.
