IHC appoints judges to hear cyber crime cases

Following the passing of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016, the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has nominated a district and sessions judge and a civil judge as presiding officers of the court to hear cyber crime cases.

District and Sessions Judge Iram Niazi had been given additional charge along with Civil Judge (West), Abdul Ghafoor Kakar.

In Response to a letter of Ministry of Law and Justice, the IHC registrar issued a notification nominating Ms Irum Niazi, District and Sessions Judge/Judge Special Courts (CNS) and Senior Civil Judge Abdul Ghafoor Kakar, as presiding officers of the courts established under Section 44 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act, 2016.
