The Supreme Court has decided to beef up the security in the wake of hearing of the Panama Leaks case on November 1.
For proper court decorum and smooth functioning of the Supreme Court, the entry will be regulated through special security passes. Only the petitioners and respondents whose cases are fixed in court will be allowed to enter the premises. However, advocates and journalists who regularly come for Supreme Court proceedings will be exempted from passes.
With regard to a general public who want to witness the proceedings of the case, SP (Security) Supreme Court Building may be contacted for security passes. Entry into the building will be allowed after checking. No cell phones will be allowed in the courtroom.
SC administration has directed concerned authorities to strictly follow the instructions and cooperate with the security staff on duty in the court premises. Security personnel have also been directed to deal with the visitors with utmost courtesy.
A larger bench of the Supreme Court will hear petitions related to the Panama Leaks on November 1, a day before the expected Islamabad Lockdown.
The bench will be presided by Chief Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali. Meanwhile, Justice Asif Khosa, Justice Azmat Saeed, Justice Ameer Hani Muslim and Justice Aijaz ul Hasan will be part of the bench.
The Supreme Court issued notices to all parties including the Prime Minister on October 20 as it began hearing five petitions regarding the Panama Papers which have overshadowed political landscape of the country for the last several months.
