Locked mosque

The DHA Lahore has, over the years, earned a good name as a housing society. It is providing all essential services and looking after the interests of the residents. On the religious side, it has built up mosques in various sectors with qualified imams and khateebs.

With the expansion of new blocks and sectors, new mosques are also constructed. A sector mosque was completed in Phase-V about two years back. This house of Allah is locked since its completion and no one can offer prayers and bow their heads in it. It is very unfortunate. Due to some sectarian interests, this mosque has been locked and the case is presumably pending in a court of law.

I request the DHA management and the authorities concerned to get the case settled and open the mosque so that Muslims belonging to any sect can offer their prayers. The DHA management under serving army officers can do it sooner than later. The society is now almost 35 years old. No case of this nature occurred earlier.

It only shows the callousness of the management and weakness of the community that we cannot even open a mosque. I will also request the ulema of the sects to show tolerance and be magnanimous towards others. No one is going to gain by keeping a mosque locked.
