It is encouraging news that after two months of wait the issuance of driving licences in Islamabad has finally resumed. There has also been an addition to the resumption, the fee to issue a licence has been increased.
It is hoped that at least after the fee hike, there will be no development of any such situation in the future where the citizens face difficulties due to non-performance of government machinery. It is still a point to ponder as to how could the traffic police department run out of budget, which already generates finance through receiving fees on licences and charging tickets.
