Government’s promises

When Pakistan Peoples Party was elected to govern over the country, President Asif Ali Zardari in his address to the nation chanted a slogan Pakistan Khappey. I want to ask him what he was thinking of when he chanted the slogan. Did he think of advancing Pakistan? If that is the case, has Pakistan advanced? If not, why did he chant that slogan?

As the PPP took hold of the government, hardships in abundance engulfed the whole nation due to wrong policy decisions by the previous government which had destroyed the economy of Pakistan. Terrorism, unemployment, inflation affected the people and PPPs famous slogan roti, kapra or makaan became obliterated.

Recent hikes in the prices of oil and dairy products have broken the backs of lower and middle class families. A labourer who used to take tea at a roadside tea stall after earning his daily wages is now unable to afford a cup of tea. Hike in transport fares has further worsened the situation. The PPP has taken advantage of Benazir Bhuttos assassination.

We need a great leadership if we want to be successful. Leaders of political parties who dont agree with their parties not-so-good decisions and policies can form a new party. The whole nation will surely support this new party because we are exhausted and fed up with the government in wrong hands. The government must be in sincere hands.
