Mohali semi-final-III

The debacle at Mohali was very much avoidable. But all is not lost and there is light at the end of the tunnel. Although, it cant be said with certainty that the match was fixed, all in the name of Pak-India friendship, but the next World Cup is only three years and a few months away.

Some refreshing thoughts of the Cricket World Cup 2015 will be: Asif Zardari wont be the President of Pakistan. Ijaz Butt, even if alive, wont be the Chairman of PCB. Both Waqar Younis and pot-bellied Intikhab Alam wont be around to guide the team. The overly experienced Younus Khan, Misbah-ul-Haq, Shoaib Akhtar and Abdul Razzaq, would have retired due to age.

Unpredictable and undependable Shahid Afridi too wont be around as a captain. I wish I could say that Kamran Akmal wont be at least behind the stumps, but Im not too sure. The professor Muhammad Hafeez would either have walked away or learnt a lesson from his Mohali innings.

I certainly hope that Saeed Ajmal would still be around along with Umer Gul. Wahab Riaz could become an even better bowler. Not a bad thought, eh!
