I think citizen journalism has more power and can bring out issues in depth due to its social relationship. People who work as citizen journalists are able to tackle issues more judiciously since they have a closer attachment with the people in their society.
When evaluating mainstream journalism or media, citizen journalism has the right access to endorse any kind of information. The changing trend of journalism gives people a chance to speak out.
If the principle “democracy is for the people and the people for democracy” gains confidence among the public, then social media can play a vital role to support this. Social media should not fall under the influence of political parties.
They should have the freedom to express and act accordingly. In a true democracy, the power of the people is clear and visible. Social media should act on behalf of the people and have a brave approach in bringing out issues.
