The recent wave of target killing is reminding us of the dark age in Arabia, before the lifetime of the Prophet (SAW), when the people were thirsty of each others blood without an apparent reason. During that time, cruelty was at its peak and there was no respect for human life. Girls were buried alive. Enmity passed from generation to generation resulting in increased bloodshed.
The killing of a human being is such a great loss. It is as if the whole humanity has been murdered. We all are children of Adam, and thus are actually killing our own brothers and sisters. It’s high time we take divine guidance from the Holy Quran and Prophet (SAW). In the Quran, there are various verses in which God has cursed the killing of human beings: “If a man kills a Believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell, to abide therein (forever) and the wrath and the curse of Allah are upon him, and a dreadful punishment is prepared for him.”(Al-Nisa: 93)
The Prophet (SAW) has said: “When two Muslims fight each other with their swords, both the murderer as well as the murdered will go to the Hell-fire. The murdered will also go to the Hell-fire because he also surely had the intention to kill his companion.” (Bukhari) We must wake up from our deep sleep and identify Satan’s tactics of leading us to Hell as well as to a miserable life.
