Importance of libraries

Libraries are an important source of knowledge for people. They are the best source for those who cannot afford to buy costly books or who cannot go to any institutions but are keen to learn. But unfortunately we do not have many public libraries in our country? Most of the people do not have access to them. We also do not have a culture of reading in our society. The children are busy watching movies instead of reading books. The key to progress lies in education, knowledge and advancement in technology. The teenagers in advanced countries are more acquainted with knowledge than us.

Libraries are established for the systematic collection, organisation, preservation and dissemination of knowledge and information. It is very important to preserve and maintain valuable knowledge and information contained in books and documents. We can read them while travelling. A tragic death befell a plan to build a library near my house. Nearly three years have passed and no progress has come to the surface. At this rate, we may never be able to get a single library in 100 years.
