The Election Commission of Pakistan announced on Saturday that the national Whatsapp admin elections will take place on the 4th of Septemberthis year.
“We felt that after the local bodies’ polls, these elections were way overdue,” said Sardar Muhammad Raza, the chief election commissioner. “And now, this next stage of democratisation will finally commence.”
Election campaign activity has already started for the upcoming polls.
Noman “Nomi” Javed, running for the admin of Hav3li Lakha BoYz, a Whatsapp group popular among the male youth who have studied from Government College Haveli Lakha in district Okara, has told his electoral college that he will work for the betterment of the group much more than the founder Waqqas Qureshi.
“I will make sure that the progress and development goes on,” said Javed. “In the form of jokes, religious quotations and tasteful pornographic video clips that don’t eventually turn out to involve transgenders as the ones shared by (founder and current admin Waqqas) Qureshi.”
Meanwhile campaigning also commenced for Kewl Girls of Kinnaird 2016-2020. “I will make sure this group is never, I repeat, never, short of pictures of Fawad Khan and Virat Kohli. I mean never,” said Sidra Chaudhry to a hall of cheering batchmates. “NEVER EVER!!!”
