Why is it that when a problem is discussed in Pakistans media, the very first and last victim is logic?
This fiasco has been embroiled in such populist terms that most people on the ground think that Reko Diq is East India Company reincarnate out to pelf our wealth whereas the company was exploring land and pouring money into extracting the wealth that lay untapped in the depth of the land. The company was kicked out in the middle of its contract.
Why? Given that the land is now valuable and many other countries are salivating over it, this creates a greater space for greater kickbacks. We all know who that will benefit? Not the people of Balochistan or Pakistan, for sure.
