35 ghost employees identified in healthcare centres of Bin Qasim Town

As many as 35 ghost employees, including four doctors, have been identified in healthcare centres of Bin Qasim Town of Karachi and their salaries have been stopped by the health department of Sindh.

Talking to PPI, Director Health Services, Karachi, Dr Shakoor Abbasi, said that the health services department in collaboration with district town officer had detected 35 employees including four doctors during scrutiny of staff in Bin Qasim Town and their salaries had been stopped by the department.

He said all district health officers had been directed to start scrutiny of health employees in their respective districts. He said the DHOs had been directed to take strict action against ghost employees.

Dr Abbasi said these ghost employees had been found in healthcare centres operating in Bin Qasim Town of the city. He said scrutiny of medical staff would be carried out in hospitals, maternity homes, basic health units and rural health centers under the supervision of DHOs.

He said 33 healthcare centres had been provided medicines throughout the city and there was no shortage of drugs of hospitals. He directed the heads of hospitals, RHCs and maternity homes to contact DHOs for medicines in case of shortage.
